QUOTE: "The Moore gallery is pleased to present
an exhibition of works by Canadian artist David Barnett at the
Moore Gallery, 80 Spadina Avenue suite 404 in Toronto .

Fauteux: Being There.
Moore Gallery is pleased to Welcome André
Fauteux , widely considered to be one of Canada's best sculptors,
who has returned to making paintings after a thirty year hiatus.
Fauteux, who delights in contradiction, presents us with paintings that
are a contradictory and often ironic mix of modernist philosophy and
the imagery of 19 th Century Romanticism. Paintings who's overt
painterly-ness* is the opposite of his "cool" sculpture. This
exhibition marks the introduction of Fauteux to the Moore Gallery
stable of artists.

PART TWO:
THE STORY OF HOW I FOUND OUT
THE
WHOLE LINE,
The missing link between
the two
databases, one recent of 3 generations, and the other ancient of many
generations.
as recently as February 20,
2004
As of February 20, 2004, and February 21, 2004 I now have André
Fauteux's line back to France. HAPPPY! Carol! finally after 2,400
entries
into my ReUnion Program Fauteux database, and about 7 years
work.{started
around 1997} and fun. the link is finally made.
I had Andre's line back to his Grandfather: Edmond Fauteux
married
to Olivine Paquette or Paquet. My main source was my Mother-in-law ,
Lyle
Secord Ferguson Fauteux, now age 90. } {See the information that I did have below the LDS
search
results for Joseph Fauteux.- which is color coded green.}
My thinking was that if I built up this huge database of a fairly
rare surname in Canada, Fauteux, that eventually I would be able to
bridge
the gap, between the more recent line back to Andre Fauteux's
Grandfather
and the more way back Fauteux persons. I had this other huge database
of
2,400 entriesFauteux related names and their relatives, spouses,
children , and etc.
My word search was for: Given name: Joseph and
Surname:
Fauteux
RESULTS: up come 38 matches, some of with are from Hawkesbury,
Prescott
County, Ontario, Canada and one is married to a PROULX and
is
related to a Joseph Edmond FAUTEUX married to an Olivine
Paquet.
I Finally FOUND out who was the Great Grandfather of Andre
Joseph
Lucien Fauteux, that would be the father of his Grandfather
Edmond Fauteux , born: 13 Feb 1886, in L'Orignal, Hawkesbury
Village, Prescott County, Ontario, Canada and died: after 1928, in the
1871
Ontario Census, [http://130.15.161.15/dbtw-wpd/exec/dbtwpub.dll},
married:
on 19 Sep 1904, Hawkesbury, Prescott County, Ontario, to Olivine{
Alvina ?}{Olive?}{Alvena}{Olvina}{Ovelina?} PAQUETTE,
born 5 Aug 1888, in L'Orignal, Longeuil Twp, Prescott Co, Ontario,
Canada
and died after 1928 , this date based on the birth of their last
daughter
born, Francoise Fauteux, who is alive;and address is :633 or
637
Montcalm Street, Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada, K6A 1V4, also Description
[Hawkesbury East Twp.] Census Ontario, 1871, as : listed as age 5,
PAQUETTE,
ALVINA. .
[Source: Lyle Secord Ferguson Fauteux's genealogy records
and
memories; Lyle is the mother of Andre J. L. Fauteux. Interviewed by
Carol
Sutton in 1999. Lyle lives in Hamilton, Ontario and is a retired Public
Health Nurse and a member of the Zonta Club. Plus a photographic
picture
album from Lyle Fauteux. {See full Sources List at end.}
My thinking was to use the prefix name of JOSEPH. FAUTEUX,
with
the idea that the 'Edmond' might not even be used in some databases.
Many
many Roman Catholic men, have the first name, almost a 'prefix' name, Joseph;
just as many Roman Catholic women, have the first name, almost a
'prefix'
name, Maria. Named after no doubt Joseph and Mary in the bible;
Mary
mother of Jesus Christ.
Next I decided to test out this theory in the Latter Day Saints
(LDS:
www.familysearch.org) file
base.
I found out that Edmond Fautuex full name was not just Edmond
as a given name but just by a random search for the word Joseph
in the Latter Day Saints files, that his given name was Joseph
Edmond
Fauteux.
And that Joseph Edmond Fauteux is the son of Camille
FAUTUEX and Olivine PROLUX. So this is how I learned that Andre
Joseph Lucien Fauteux Great Great Grandfather is Camille
Fautuex.
Which makes naming sense, as his own father had the middle name of Camille, Joseph Hervey
Camille Fauteux.
Unfortunately the good sumaritan who
placed
this data into the Latter Day Saints files did not take credit for it,
and
remains an unnamed source. So sadly my linking hero cannot be named.
However there was no father given for that of Camille Fauteux,
but
it did not matter, as all I needed was this missing link to tie Camille
Fauteux and Olivine Prolux, in with all my other Fauteux's, Prolux's
and
Paquette's , Paquet's etc. Except it would help if I had the exact
father
of Camille Fauteux. For this I used Latter Day Saints again but also
Rootsweb.
NEXT STEP: FINDING THE FATHER OF CAMILLE
FAUTEUX.
or Filling in a few missing links.
I used The
Church
of the Latter Day Saints filesagain and did a
search on Camille. After that by going to Rootsweb
site. ( www.rootsweb )and doing
a search on Camille I was able to come across the files of Tiffany
Fugere.
I already had the files, since June 23, 2003, of Jacques
Proulx:

jun 2 2003 updated. My notes; Jules Fauteux of Prescott, Ontario, son
of
Gilbert FAUTEUX, and since February 20, 21, 2003.
Since I already had Joseph Fauteux, and his full line
back toJean Fauteux, circa 1600, of Rouen, Normandie
(Seine-Maritime),
France, Europe; but not only the one child of his as Moise Fauteux
or
Moyse Fauteux.
My Moise Fauteux data was via: Tara
Heagle<upwimt@aol,com>,

individuals,
Prescott Co., ON, Hawkesbury. Linked to:Children of Marie Elmire
THAUVETTE
and Moÿse FAUTEUX .Next I realized that Tiffany Fugere had two sons
for Joseph Fauteux by wife: Marguertie Lefebvre, those of 1 Napoleon
Fauteux,
born: ABT 1851 and 2 Ferdinand Fauteux born: ABT 1853. Then I was
able
to make the link via the data {I
will post below in mustard green color} I was
able
to get again from Latter Day Saints (LDS) that Camille Fauteux was
also
the son of Joseph Fauteux and Marguerite Lefebure. The same Joseph
Fauteux
and Marguerite Lefebure Fauteux, who were the parents of Napoleon and
Ferdinand
Fauteux.
Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the
LDS Church. No additional information is available. Ancestral File may
list
the same family and the submitter.
Unfortunately the good
sumaritan
who placed this data into the Latter Day Saints files did not take
credit
for it, and remains an unnamed source. So sadly my linking hero cannot
be
named.

Prescott County GenWeb
The Townships
Prescott County, Ontario
This county is the most easterly county in
Ontario. It is bounded on the east by Vaudreuil Co., PQ, on the north
by the Ottawa River, on the west by Russell Co., and the south by
Stormont & Glengarry Counties. A lot of the area along the rivers
& streams is low lying & still subject to spring floods.
But the hard work of the settlers have turned it into an excellent
agricultural area. There were few heavy industries until recently,
except for the saw & paper mills at Hawkesbury. There are many
small & medium sized business throughout the county. The main towns
are Hawkesbury, L'Orignal, Vankleek Hill, Plantagenet & Alfred but
there are many other local towns. There are seven townships in the
county. The county was first settled in the late 1700s by Loyalists
from the US, except for some settlers in Longueuil & along the
streams that flow into Vaudreuil Co. the latter two groups would have
French ancestry. There was a large influx of Irish in the 1815-25s
& some overflow of Scots from Glengarry Co. Mixed with this was a
slow trickle of French Canadians mainly from Vaudreuil Co. A must read
is C.H. Thomas' "History of Two Counties" written in 1896 &
reprinted twice in recent years. It should be available in most large
libraries in Canada or on inter-library loan. The township information
is from this book.
